Change notes - Version 5.0

This new version of Kumiko Designer includes many new features and patterns. At the same time I've removed quite a few bugs, improved the mobile phone usability and made the appareance a little more fresh.

Square grids

This release has a completely new interface to design square grids, with variable pitch between the jigumi. Quite some infill patterns are available, although for suare grids I haven't seen that many patterns so far. If you know other nice patterns be sure to let me know!

These two examples are based on Matt Kenney's designs. Be sure to check out his work at MEK Woodworks.

Undo button / ctrl+z

Another feature that was often requested is a way to undo changes to the panel infill design. A new button was added to undo changes to the pattern pieces' colors, type and orientation.

New patterns

Also in the hexagonal interface many new patterns have been added. A small overview is shown below.

Imperial measurements

A toggle button has been added to toggle between metric and imperial units. I've had many requests for this feature from users in the United States, so I'm happy to share that you can now finally work with your preferred units.

Bug fixes

A graphical bug that has been in the design tool for very long has finally been resolved. It was a hard one to find, because it only showed up on some specific browsers, but I'm really happy that I found the cause of this one.
